...multiplying transformational churches among all people.
Have you wondered what "multiplying" means in the context of our mission statement [above]? Most people view this as the traditional church plant where either an existing church or the district intentionally starts a church in an under-served location. These days church planting takes on many forms. It might include the traditional church plant, but it also might include a "video venue" – on-site or off-site. It might include a church operating at multiple sites, but still functioning as one church. Or it might be two churches in the same location but worshiping in different languages (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, or a multitude of other languages). There are many forms, but the goal remains of reaching people for Christ through healthy, local churches.
At the EFCA national office, we strive to serve churches in the area of church planting through support systems like church planter assessments, training bootcamps, and coaching. This translates into an amazing 87% of our church plants surviving. Several years ago, we took a risk and began an experiment bringing together the top twelve EFCA church planters - planters who had grown churches rapidly from 100 to 300 people - to be coached by pastors who had successfully grown churches to over 1,000. This Turbo Coaching Network proved to be a magnificent tool. Most of these planters have taken their churches to the next level and several districts are doing second generation Turbo Coaching Networks with their planters.
Your gift supports church planting, along with a myriad of other services to help churches fulfill the EFCA mission statement. Together we are stronger. Together we are better. To God be the glory!
